...Can't live with them and can't live without them!
It is tough enough figuring out our own relationships... with our spouses, children, parents, friends, etc. - but when you are asked to jump in the middle of a relationship your grown child is involved in - LOOK OUT! There will not be a way to please everyone. Do you anger/hurt your son or daughter... or do you tear into the "other" person... or do you simply stay out of it?
Being a people person with some knowledge of many things, being "quiet" is hard. Yes, your raised eyebrows can be felt, if not seen! However, being quiet and diplomatic while having empathy can soothe both sides.
Follow these simple guidelines:
- Listen to both sides
- Pray for God's wisdom
- Be honest
- Love unconditionally
- Be available
No one is perfect. Do not expect perfection from yourself or others. Remember to treat others the way you wish to be treated and give it to God to handle. He has lots more time. patience, and experience than any one else and will find a solution - in His time, in His way. Wait for His answer because our Heavenly Father does know best.
